Chris Jones

Guitarist and singer Chris Jones hails from Reno, Nevada. He plays and sings like a man possessed. He grew up with the blues because his father was a fan, then took up classical guitar at the age of 5 before returning to blues, rock and country as a teenager. A master of the strangest open tunings on the guitar, his playing is sometimes reminiscent of Ry Cooder or Lowell George, sometimes of Leo Kottke, or even Bruce Hornsby! At all times it remains unmistakeably his own. As well as performing solo and in duos, he also plays with his own band, but his remarkable picking can also be heard on traditional folk recordings by Irish artists such as Geraldine MacGowan and Mary O'Regan.
